Sucks man. Netwinner is cesspool of swirling festering crap though, I figured that out a long time ago when their stupid little game site was loading spyware and trojans on my computer… I went to the forums to complain about it and poof, acct deleted.

But at least you’re cool. =)

we love da james.

Ed17406 said in May 13th, 2008 at 12:55 am

James,

Shouldn’t you have cashed out before you posted your rant? Now you’ll never receive your $3,070.13.

Ed

James said in May 13th, 2008 at 12:59 am

Stevie, I have to disagree with ya, bud. No spyware on any of their sites or forums. They were clean.

Ed. HAH, I DID. 6 months ago. The transaction was cancelled and the points were credited back into my account. Now they are just that….POINTS for raffles.

Stevie said in May 13th, 2008 at 1:03 am

Meh, avast was a little over reactive at times. I did notice they cleaned it up shortly after I ranted to them about it though. This was way back by the way, you probably weren’t advertising them at the time so even if the avast fit was legit – no one would have been infected through you.

lub da james. now gimme goodies.

James said in May 13th, 2008 at 1:09 am

I dont have any goodies!
you have to go to justfreestuff.com for that! =)

yeah, a lot of spyware/antivirus programs create false positives on legit sites. who knows.

Stevie said in May 13th, 2008 at 1:11 am

I use Eset Smart Security now, I love it so far. I stopped messing with avast awhile ago, it was a stupid looking little program anyway lolol. :A

AVG just came out with 8.0 for free. I just listed it last week on jfs.com

Stevie said in May 13th, 2008 at 1:18 am

always loved AVG free and still do but in the new version for some reason they decided to make the email scanning expire after a month. :(

Hey James,
I can feel for you friend. It really sucks when you work very hard to promote someone and then they don’t pay up. Wanted to let you know that I also just downloaded the new AVG and I have never had any problems so far. I use both Outlook Express and IncrediMail for my emails and have never had a virus yet. Can’t say that for Yahoo though. In one month alone, I had to reprogram my brand new computer twice to remove viruses that McAfee had not caught. Have used AVG since and no reprogramming of my computer. Yea!http://jfsdaily.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/4.gif

I WISH YOU COULD GET YOUR NAME OFF THAT SITE, JAMES. THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATS. I WOULD WIN POINTS ON BANKO, THEN IT WOULD NOT STOP FOR ME TO GET THEM. I WOULD CONTACT THEM AND THEY SAID THEY ARE A TEST SITE AND IT HAPPENS. I HAD A 25.00 CREDIT PROCESSING SINCE 3-26-08 AND IT DISAPPEARED. I AM WAITING FOR A REPLY. THEY NO LONGER SHOW A CASH PAYOUT OF ANY KIND AND I NEVER WIN RAFFLES. I AM GOING TO WRITE SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO ADVERTISE ON THEIR SITE, LIKE TV GUIDE AND SEE IF I CAN GET THEM TO PULL THEIR ADVERTISING. I USED TO DO THIS KIND OF THING AS A SIDE JOB AND THE ONLY REASON I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING BEFORE IS BECAUSE YOUR NAME IS ON THE SITE AND I DON’T WANT TO CAUSE YOU ANY TROUBLE.

DO YOU KNOW IF THEY ARE IN THE UNITED STATES?

THANKS,
SHARON P

Honbee97 said in May 13th, 2008 at 2:53 am

They’ve owed me $150, mostly since December, and I haven’t seen any of it, and they don’t respond. Sharon, if you know how to contact many of the advertisers, please give us a listing. I’d also like to as them to remove their support of these #$&*@.

I downloaded AVG, and am liking it a lot. It’s picking up stuff that The Shield and Avast don’t. I didn’t renew The Shield for the first time in years, and free is so much better.

We don’t blame you for Netwinner being what it is. We appreciate all you do, and your honesty.

Funny this was sent in the JFS newsletter today. Last night I went to play on the site and saw the points I had redeemed in Decemeber were back in my acct. I checked to see about the prize I had redeemed for points and had been pending all this time had completely disappeared. I sent them a note basically saying it was fraud and that even tho they must make money from their advertisers they didn’t live up to their promises. I did receive an e-mail reply this morning and it was full of apologies saying it was to prevent fraudulent accts. Then they said they would double my points (not sure why since they are good for NOTHING). For the heck of it I logged in this morning and no double points anyway. (I would like to say that when they started out I did receive 2 $25 walmart gift cards)

pabutton said in May 13th, 2008 at 5:04 am

i was in the middle of a netwinner game when i looked and had all these points, so i looked at my prizes and like everyone else only the prize already redeemed showed up, so i looked in my mail and saw the letter they sent everyone. and like everyone else…who wants to spend 500 points for 1 chance to win something you really don’t even want. i see nothing on the prize list of chances that i would even want. i will check back periodically to see if the prizes have changed, but i don’t think i will sit and play netwinner anymore. i did get one e card with 22.00 on it, never did figure out what happened to the other 3.00….

There is fraud everywhere. Can’t trust anyone. DH did sub work for a “friend” and has been owed over $14K for about 2 years now. Never gonna see it. I try not to think about it. Just makes my soul dirty from anger.

Netwinner sucks, as I emailed you via jfs. I had hit 10,000 points as a “prize” a few months ago. They didn’t give me the points, claiming it was a beta game. They don’t honor their beta games. I’m so glad it wasn’t the “jackpot” as I would really be pissed. I have since stopped playing there and no longer refer anyone to them. I hope they crash and burn (at least after they fulfill their payouts).

HolJen said in May 13th, 2008 at 5:32 am

Ouch! Gee James, sorry you had a tough time with them. What was the name of their site again? NetLOSER ? ? Never bite the hand that feeds you. It will take some time but they will notice a drop in interest. Personally I never went into that site. I just do basic stuff on the computer but you of course are a site I can depend on and trust. Thanks so much for you James. Be strong and forget the people and sites that aren’t the same. That’s why never aren’t around as long! Stay safe and have a great day today, forget yesterday.

Hey James, you know I joined that site because I figured it was one way of paying you for all the good bits you sent my way. :A So, being the addictive personality I am have sat at and sat at that dratted game, all the time thinking… at least I’m doing James some good.
I cashed in (ha) 300,000 points a while back and have been waiting for the e card for over 90 days now. I wonder if it’ll actually come, lol.
I have to say that I HAVE recieved from them in the past 2 $25 cards and a Walmart Card for $350.00 but have always recieved rude answers to my queries etc. Just sent another to see IF the card was coming or what, lol. Wonder what will happen now.
Well, at least my garden will be back to normal and I’ll lose weight I suppose ::D but doesn’t it make ya mad when ya get screwed by people ya trust!
ALSO!!! I want to know how come I suddenly get 600,000 points when … ah ya know I could go on and on and I know someone else has a load to say as well.
James, yours is the only site I have for freebies, I think you do an awesome job and am sorry they have screwed you over. We’ll continue to fight the good fight eh…. be believable and stand by your word… someone has to… copskitty

sorry you had this proble I myself play on sweepsnation and yes the gift cards do come that you win and super fast check it out it is a small new sight right now but they do add games every so often Theresa

snakebiteay said in May 13th, 2008 at 6:28 am

there was ABSOLUTELY spyware on netwinner, i had to remove it every few days. and also it wouldnt have mattered if youd cashed in your points, because today, i once again checked my prize page, and lo and behold, no prizes, they have re-credited those points back to my account instead of sending the 9 gift cards they owed me, and now those points can only be used to enter raffles. i hope they all end up in jail for fraud. ive already filed a complaint with the bbb in north carolina. i suggest everyone do the same, and bring these lying fraudulent bastards down. there, now i feel better, ( a little)

emichelle1113 said in May 13th, 2008 at 8:02 am

I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office of North Carolina, and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online.
May I suggest that everyone do the same, and get this SOB for the fraud he has committed??? He is a LLC corporation, and as such has had to register with the State of North Carolina. Therefore, He is licensed in that state. Let us ALL complain, and get his license pulled. It is illegal to defraud people, and that is what he has done. He stole $150 from me, and that really hurts. I WILL get that money, or will cause him to regret the day he screwed me. We entered into a contract with him when we agreed to his terms of service.

If you have honestly followed those terms of service as I have, then you are entitled to ALL monies you had cashed out for and never received BEFORE he made the change yesterday. Let’s not let his greed get in the was of us receiving the monies we are entitle to by law.

I have an appointment this morning, after which I am headed to the post office to send him a certified letter. I will post addresses to the above mentioned consumer protection sites when I return. Or, you can find them online easily.

Let’s stick together on this one folks!

emichelle1113 said in May 13th, 2008 at 8:07 am

And James…you have NO reason to apologize to ANYONE over this issue, because we ALL should well know that you had NO control over this! Let us just fight back!

WOW! In the last week, I’ve noticed negative changes on NetWinner’s website. Just when I was approaching 25,000 to cash in for a gift card, they removed that option & made it 100,000 points. Next, the “hits”-winning any points-has decreased significantly. Now, I know why! What a waste of time! I feel I’ve been taken big time making me feel like a jerk. Not a good feeling…

Cat said in May 13th, 2008 at 9:40 am

Well, James you know i signed up under you…i kept playing, in hopes of some money.
Never won anything….just points. So what good are the dang points???
Gonna take that site off my pc now!!! HAD enough.
Besides…you already MY feelings about that dang site….haha.

So glad(sad for the rest of you!)everyone & James got the word out about NetWinner.I’m disabled and have an extremely tight budget—so I had started playing on their site and had been working toward the $100 gift card.I already had spent hours playing their games and a couple of times I did hit big points on Banko only for the site to “freeze up” when I tried to cash in.I’m kinda learning the computer as I use different things so I thought I had caused the “freeze” or that my computer had messed up!Now I know that must be how they keep from awarding the big prizes for Banko. Thanks for the warning guys and gals-guess I can stop spending my time on their site!Hope you all get this guy and they make him pay up>For those who live in North Carolina where this site comes from(?)have you all thought of small claims court? It’s cheap and usually easy and you have true judges, etc.!Go get him!!

billstal said in May 13th, 2008 at 9:51 am

Interesting to get the jfs newsletter and I went to netwinner and I also cashed out $50 three months ago and now my points are back in my account and I just checked it like two days ago and it still said my prize was processing. Maybe if enough people read this and complain they’ll do something about it that it so bogus.

SMC said in May 13th, 2008 at 10:23 am

I started with them and got enough points for 25-50 a week with my referrals, it was really nice, a little slow paying but I had $600 quick in gift cards, then all of the sudden they make people verify to get referral credit, but they never make anyone do it to play, so they screwed a bunch of people. I complained and they threatened to ban me which it the response you get for actually asking a question. they fall back on fraud, I had to build it back up and cashed out another $300 and got the ecount card from a cashout in Sept and then the rest ended up in pending. then I got the email they are eliminating the cashouts. So they basically just kept all that money. and they blame the cheaters. The dissapointing part is that they had a good concept and just killed themselves. It is as if they really didn’t think anyone would make money and when they did, they found a scapegoat of cheaters and now we all lose, I have 1400 referrals on there and now I can get a cheap cd player if I eneter the drawing ad somehow win.

did you notice the prizes suck now? it use o be laptops and such now just all crap

Jancy said in May 13th, 2008 at 10:25 am

James, So sorry that this program has created so much of a headache. You need not apologize to anyone. We had the option to look it over and decide for ourselves if we wanted to participate. I did sign in under you but I got into the site a few times and for some reason it just seemed like there was something amiss with this site. I couldn’t put my finger on it at that time but decided not to get involved with it. I felt like I was letting you down by not getting more into the thing, but now am glad I didn’t waste my time with this site. Hope you can get some resolution to this and for all of us I guess its a lessoned learned.

I am extremly pissed as I won my first MasterCard on 02/10 and as far as sweepstakes go I am not interested in them, what you have a 1 in a million chance of winning one of these. I think I will contact better business and complain as it takes 2 hours per day to play this game and I am more than just a little pissed as I have wasted 120 hours of my time where I could be doing other things like surveys that actually pay and don’t rip off there customers. They are obligated up to this point to send cards to those that have earned them, you cannot change the game in the middle with no notice to you’re customers.)::(

Ineri218 said in May 13th, 2008 at 11:05 am

emichelle, I would appreciate the info. I was one of thousands that was cashed out for 200.00 and a gift card since nov 20th 2007. Never received the money or gift card but received the sob letter from netwinner. They doubled my points and are hoping that I enter their cheap raffles. I wrote them a letter a received a sorry excuse. Well like you I feel that if they changed their rules we should still be entitled to what we had cashed out for before their convienient(yeah right)change. thanks

nkrupa said in May 13th, 2008 at 11:33 am

James, I am very made about this. I feel ripped off. I lost $75. I needed. I was depending on theat coming. I am on a fixed income. so this was a lot to me.. I do not see how they can take something away from you that you already earned.. Sounds like they did it to everyone.. I think they owe all the people who already redeemed thier points for cards, and then if they want to change the rules, and just offer chances for prizes, that is another story. At least we would have some notice.. They doubled my points that I would have had if I did not redeem them. But they are kind of worthless to me. You have a chance in million of winning one of the prizes.. I am very mad.. If you find out something we can do. Let me know…. Thanks a lot..

brandclan5 said in May 13th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

i agree james i just sent them an email cause they put my points back and said they canceled their cash cards because of fraud after a 4month wait for the card yes they are the fraud

wwevirgo said in May 13th, 2008 at 12:55 pm

Unbelievable! Just as I thought I was about to receive my big $25 ecount card (minus the $3 fee, good thinking there netwinner) I get an e-mail today from support that I was credited with 50,000 points! Hot damn! 50,000 useless, put them in a useless drawing of which no one probably wins drawing. I wrote them back and made the suggestion that they send all of us who thought we were getting those ecount cards a $25 gift card from wal-mart, or a restaurant like they use to have. If not I think we should all band together and see what kind of lawsuit we could get based on their rules and prize handling. 100’s of people knocking on their door with lawyers, might get us what we deserve!

brandclan5 said in May 13th, 2008 at 1:07 pm

ps
james this is the reply i received
Dear Teresa,

Thank you for contacting Netwinner Customer Support. We are sorry but at this time we are unable to
redeem points for cash. This has been done in order to cut back on the large amounts of fraud and
liability we have been facing. We are very sorry but we would like to apologize by returning double
the points you used in making your transaction. We hope to be able to reinstate these cards at a later
time but as of right now we are no longer able to do so. If you had an instant win or prize drawing
please reply to this email with your username and the amount of the prize.
Again we apologize for the trouble we have caused you.

Regards,
Customer Support, Netwinner

you can see this was confirmed over 3months ago why are we no getting our prize
this was confirmed now it shows we are not receiving our prize this is not fair
play
if you change your rules this week that should not matter with this prize it was
again confirmed over 3 months ago and to be sent

what a joke

James, I am soooo upset it’s ridiculous. I got all my points credited back to my act also. My husband and I had $200 coming and now they will not pay. Can’t they be turned into the better business bureau or internet fraud or something like that? Just curious because if they can, I will be turning them in. We were trying for the money to get my daughter a crib, we cashed out 7 months ago so we’d have the money in time, well she’s now 3 months old and we still cannot afford a crib. I am so mad needless to say!!!
BTW I LOVE your site (I know you hear that everyday but I’m sure it’s still nice to hear :D )

For anyone who is interested in filing a complaint to the Attorney General of North Carolina, here is their website:

http://www.ncdoj.com/default_contactus_form.jsp?sectionid=ag&subsectionid=general

For those who would also like to file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau online, here is their site:

http://www.bbbonline.org/

And, here is the owner/president of NetWinner:

S. Allen Dean
NetWinner, L.L.C.
1427 South Blvd #200
Charlotte, NC 28203

I guess Mr. Dean did not think to contact an attorney before he decided to default on the contract he has with all of the people who play his little game, because if he had, his attorney would have told him that fraud is an illegal activity.

If anyone would like to be in a class action lawsuit against him, let’s get together on this. The more complaints he has against him, the more apt we will be to recover our damages. Or, Mr. Dean will end up behind bars. So, PLEASE file complaints against him with the two above mentioned agencies. The more ammunition against him, the better. We cannot let nefarious people such as Mr. Dean get away with these types of illegal activities…EVER!!!

emichelle1113 said in May 13th, 2008 at 2:48 pm

This is the action that the BBB will take to try and resolve the complaints against the company. This is a good idea to do folks, so that we will have the ammo we need if and when it goes to small claims court. If he is willing to make this right, he will save himself a class action lawsuit. This is why I IMPLORE all of you to file these complaints. It is the ONLY way we will win against NetWinner:

BBB Dispute Resolution Services
Dispute Resolution Steps to Resolve Complaints

We will work with you and the business to reach a solution to your problem. The dispute resolution process is an alternative to going to court – it’s informal and user-friendly and it helps resolve thousands of complaints each year.

BBBs offer several methods to resolve your dispute.

In conciliation, we collect factual information from both parties to a dispute, encourage open communication and facilitate discussions leading to a resolution.

In mediation, we will provide a professionally trained mediator to talk with the parties and guide them in working out their own mutually-agreeable solutions.

If conciliation and/or mediation efforts are not successful, arbitration may be the next step. The parties state their views at an arbitration hearing, offer evidence and let an impartial arbitrator make a decision that ends the dispute.

We will advise you of the appropriate steps to resolve your particular concern. For additional information on how dispute resolution works, review: Dispute Resolution, The Commonsense Alternative.

James, I joined Netwinner from a link in one of your emails in Oct. 2006. In Dec. of 2007 I cashed in 100,000 points for a $100 reloadable MasterCard. I still have not received it and now I doubt that I ever will. I don’t think I’m going to waste any more time on the most boring games there that I have ever played.

Let me relate my experience with them. I racked up the needed 25,000 points (I believe that is the number you need for a $25 GC) anyway I cashed out the first time had to wait about 6 weeks, but while waiting racked them up again cashed out, sae thing 3 different times. Then in December cashed out again. Now they were giving Ecount card by MC. No problem (so I thought) like I said that was in Dec. still waiting to get it. I wrote them in March and they said there was a glitch but that they were currently working on the winners in Nov. Like I said I cashed out in Dec. It is now the middle of May and still nothing!!!!

kraus_amber said in May 13th, 2008 at 7:29 pm

I got the same letter from netwinner brandclan5, and so did my mother. She emailed them a reply and got same letter but this time an added phone number to call. It ended up being a young guy and it was his 2nd day on the job and he just said there was nothin they could do because there was a lot of fraud going on and that she needed to just put them into their drawins which I’m sure even if you did win you wouldn’t get anything anyway. Seeings as though they can’t afford to pay out cash.

smokey37073 said in May 13th, 2008 at 8:08 pm

I was wondering why they weren’t giving out any points on the wheel. I have over 25,000 points now and I wanted to turn them in. I’m with all of you all the way. They were supposed to be for my kids for christmas. oh well! but my husbands account still shows processing! they di double the points they gave back but ive been waiting 7 weeks and my husbands has been processing for 11 weeks! I did put all 163000 points into sweeps and still playsince it gives me something to do while checking email. i have about 4500 worth of antispy/antivirus on my computer so i dont think they got anything on mine.

was hard work for me. I wrote them telling them
it has been 6 months since I was owed money. They
wrote me back finally said due to fraud they
were not allowed to send me my money. That is
crap. They owe it. I am going to contact the
attorney general in my state about the money.
I do not see how they can get away without sending
it to me. Does anyone have any other ideas on
how I can get my money back. Debra

emichelle, I also received a reply back from the BBB and it stated the same thing. I guess they will have no other choice than to payout or shut down. Thenks for your help and I encourage everyone to do the same.

emichelle1113 said in May 14th, 2008 at 8:19 am

Excellent Ineri218! And, you are quite welcome. The more people who file complaints, the more Mr. Dean will be likely to do the right thing. He cannot say to BBB that EVERYONE who played his games were defrauding him. It is just an excuse to try to get out of paying what he owes!

:( Just so you know I did get a couple of Walmart GC last year ($25 ea) before they switched over to the ecount cards.

mccin said in May 16th, 2008 at 7:46 pm

I joined netwinner almost a yr ago. Got my 1st giftcard w/in 3 mths. Then, referred a few people. Cashed out for 100.00 in Dec. Had enough for another 100.00 we were going to use it as spending money for our vacation. Then, they did away w/the money before I got the 100.00 now, no vacation for a little longer as we are using the money I get from surveys and such to go on our trip. I don’t see why the site couldnt just punish the idiots that ruined it for the rest of us.

emichelle1113 said in May 17th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

I know this is LONG, but here is some information straight from the Better Business Bureau’s website on the fraudulant website, NetWinner (NetLOSER). Now folks, you should know that these are 20 complaints against that they have failed to resolve over the last 36 months. This DOES NOT include all of the complaints that we have made, as those have not yet posted. I just thought you might like to see what this DEFRAUDER has been up to for the last two years. I WISH I had looked him up BEFORE I started wasting my valuable time on his website!

James, they owe me $250.00 I;ll never get of course. I hate that this happened to all of us. May I ask tho without it seeming like I’m being rude? Are you remaining a partner site or will you withdraw? Just curious. from reading your post you don’t seem to be real happy with them.

I was a new mini mod at NetLoser just before the day of doom – I can tell you that the mods and admins got paid – just our players were scammed – I suggest everyone submit a report to the BBB of NC and the Attorney General and to ripoffreport.com – if we all work together it will help our cause – to close them down so they can’t rip off any other people. o:o

This is an EXCELLENT site to find A LOT of information on what to do and who to file MANY complaints against NetLoser…you play we pay…NOT!

bea1115 said in May 26th, 2008 at 3:49 pm

I am in the same boat as everyone else and I am just as mad as everyone else. MY question is,w3hat do we do with the points? I know they are worthless, but does the bbb have any sugestions for us?

emichelle1113 said in May 28th, 2008 at 10:20 am

Hello Bea1115,

Personally, I quit playing immediately after I read the email letter from the owner of NetLoser. I would not do ANYTHING with your points. If you use your points in the ’so-called raffle’, it means you have accepted his change in terms of service. I would just NOT visit his site any longer, and file against him with the BBB Online, the Attorney General of North Carolina, and the MANY other sites which have been listed above in http://comparerewards.blogspot.com/.

Along the same lines: I have received an email from BBB Online which stated that he has thus far NOT responded to my complaint. He has until June 6, but BBB sent me this email anyway, and it looks like he may just ignore the complaints as he has don in the past (see above copied and pasted from BBB online about NetLoser).

Once again, I IMPLORE you to contact every entity you can to file a complaint against S. Allen Dean/NetWinner.

Here is the link to the attorney I have contacted in order to start/file a class action lawsuit against him: http://www.shipmanlaw.com/PracticeAreas/Consumer-Class-Actions.asp

I also urge everyone to contact this law firm. The more people who contact them, the more chance they will take on the class action lawsuit against NetLoser.

Thank you

justfs, I read this story and couldn’t believe that even YOU got scammed by Netwinner! So sorry to hear that.

Everyone, whether you lost $25, or $1800, or accumulated points only, please take action as emichelle suggests. Visit the CompareRewards site (above URL) and find there ARE things we can do.
*eimechelle, you should contact Becky at CompareRewards about that class action lawsuithttp://jfsdaily.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif

I came here on a search for Netwinner, looking for places to warn people away from there. But then I saw you are promoting IWon. I think you might want to google them before you heartily endorse them, they are well known for spy/malware all over the site. I used to play there and just had to stop because of all the crap I had to keep getting rid of. Stopped playing there and like magic, the problems stopped insinuating themselves onto my harddrive. Just a friendly heads up.

As far as Netwinner goes, if you know what they did and you’re still playing there, shame on you. Are your principles for sale so cheaply as a chance in Hell to win a prize on an admitted rigged game? Continued support of their site means they keep making money, so essentially, you are rewarding them for bad behavior in the hopes you will get something out of it. Again, shame on you! Stop that!

NoirAngelique said in June 2nd, 2008 at 6:45 pm

Whoops, I better amend that post….regarding Netwinner, I didn’t mean you personally, that was the universal you, directed to others who come read these comments!

When I read it after hitting send, it sounded so not the way I meant it! |:| So very sorry about that!

emichelle1113 said in June 3rd, 2008 at 9:53 am

Hey pkb, I WILL contact Becky. I hope everyone who was frauded by NetLoser will join this class action lawsuit!
