Cleaning our computers would be great…especially for those of us who are computer challenged. ;;)
Thanks

waynef51 said in March 28th, 2008 at 7:53 am

I agree with Rain and the Roboform is an excellant device to have. I have the expanded version of it which covers all my log-in info for everything I do. Which even the free version is good enough for most people which James offers that.

I love my Google attofill for filling things out.It saves me time and i can enter more contests without getting carpal tunnel disease from entering them all, lol. The Google autofill was my favorite price too, free.I agree with the others on help to clean out a computer cause i tell people”i’m self taught on the computer and my teacher is an idiot”,lol.

Yes, yes, yes, Something about cleanig computer would be great. I have security suite on mine but still have lots of problems with it. Of course I’m not exactly an expert on computers but I did think that the security suite would protect it.
Have seen some “Cleaners” for free but it it only cleans it, then tells you what there is and how much there is and then tells you what it will cost to complete the work. Thanks for the freebies and sites.

kt1074 said in March 29th, 2008 at 12:39 pm

I agree that showing ways to clean the computer would be great. All that I have found from going to the free sites is that they tell me how many billions of corupted, useless, or nonessential junk stuffs I have, but they don’t tell how to clean it out(unless I send money). And then their leftover stuff is left hanging around and cluttering up my computer.

Yep! I sure would be highly interested in something about cleaning my computer also.Gotta go……I am heading off to check out the k7.net site, sure sounds interesting.::D Thanks a bunch

kr8zygurl6614 said in March 29th, 2008 at 10:09 pm

To tma406,Don’t worry that you’ll be eliminated for using roboform or my fav google autofill cause i’ve done it for about 2 years and no problems.Usually when you have to fill out a entry form for contests or sweeps they’ll ask you to copy some letters and numbers down that are provided for you. They do this so people don’t cheat and run programs to win the contests cause the computer cheats can’t read and copy the letters and numbers the contest gives you.God,i hope that made a little sense to you, lol. But honestly it’ll save you time and pain using some form of autofill.I’ve used google for my freebies and contests on a daily basis for almost 2 years so it’s safe.If your still not sure go to the pro,James and send him an e-mail and he’ll be able to explain it better than me.Good luck:O)

yup, what she said!

jkarguth said in March 30th, 2008 at 9:40 am

Thanks James, I used the K7 thing, I don’t mind giving my address and email but I have enough people I don’t know calling me. I will use one of the form programs, I always hit a lull where I just don’t feel like doing it, those will help.

On a side note I wanted to thank you for the tip that USPS and Ebay give you free boxes. Not only is it going to help start me on seriously Ebaying, but it got my wife brownie points at her job!

I enter my modem/fax line where it asks for a phone number on forms. It IS a legit number , listed with the phone company, but that call is never going to go through to bug me. The only time I put in my real number is when I want the prize offered and the winner will be contacted by phone – good thing I did the one time I won a trip to NYC from Food Network!

mekaeight said in August 6th, 2008 at 11:54 pm

I am going to the K7 site as we speak. Thanks a lot for all you do for us.

waynef51 said in August 7th, 2008 at 5:21 am

DAYLA, I enter several contest on JFS an on most of the ones I enter they ask if you want any correspondance from them usually by checking or unchecking at bottom of sweeps. Phone calls, I have done this many years and have never gotten a phone call unless I had won something!

bettie said in August 7th, 2008 at 6:19 am

James,Thanks for all the info. on phone calls

Melodie said in August 7th, 2008 at 8:18 am

I haven’t received any calls related to freebies.
A great website with computer tips for the novice to the advanced user is FREECREED.COM.

Hi, James. An article on cleaning would be great. I just downloaded ARO & SSO because my puter was/is running slowly. I use comcast for ISP and I think it should be faster and it was when I first starting with it. I’m still out with my opinion on the ARO & SSO. thanks

BeausMom1 said in August 8th, 2008 at 1:13 am

I get calls all the time after signing up for something free. Most of the time if I say “I’m really not interested in talking to them, I was just checking out the program.”, they don’t send the frrebie!

Runeshadow said in August 8th, 2008 at 9:17 am

The K7 suggestion is invaluable… I haven’t had many calls, because I avoid providing ANY number when I can, so sometimes I end up calling my own K7 number to keep it activated.

Runeshadow said in August 8th, 2008 at 9:24 am

P.S. James — I recently followed your suggestion regarding Roboform and love it!! I like the fact that you can create different identities; I often request more than one freebie… one for me, one for my adult daughter who does not live with me nor have internet access. I usually do NOT like entering contests because I simply do not have the time or energy to complete forms and I do not enjoy it. For larger items, I use the address where I volunteer (with their permission) because I do not have safe delivery at my apartment, so I have a separate identity for that, too. Roboform saves huge amounts of time!

Hi, Has anyone else had any trouble with the comcast security suite (McAfee)? It slows my computer down really bad and it updates frequently through the day. When it updates my computer constantly freezes. Any suggestions? Joann

Cecilia said in May 2nd, 2009 at 9:31 am

I am pretty ignorant on all the computer stuff. However, I do know that we had that popping up on our computer all the time. My husband started computer classes a few months ago, his teacher told him to get rid of it! and to replace it with Avast.

micabrown said in June 16th, 2009 at 1:15 am

Ok James. I have entered every contest at every magazine, every contest website, etc and have won NOTHING and now believe that noone wins, everyone just wants your info so they can sell you stuff. Very discouraged. And those surveys are a scam.

James I love this site.I am a senior citizen and samples really help out on my budget. The only thing I am having a problem with is the Walmart site. When I go there they just show the page with no form to fill out. It says not available online, buy in store. Does this mean they are out of samples for that particulair product? Thank You.

Danna said in September 17th, 2009 at 12:58 am

If you mean cleaning your computer internally then I recommend a cleaning program called CCleaner. It cleans everything from temporary internet files & cookies to memory dumps and whatever unnecessary data java or adobe leaves in your computer (which takes up space). I have been using it for almost 5 years on both my laptop and desktop, and it has never had a problem with avast! or AVG. You can download it on their website here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ or at download.com.

I have been requesting samples that are listed on this (great) website for at least two years. I too never receive any! I am wondering if my mail person has a secret hoard- hmmmmm, but I will keep trying. MY QUESTION:: other webites have indicated that auto filling forms is a bad idea because the contests website kicks those forms out — is that not the truth??? Is there a way to find out if auto filling is hurting our chances? THANKS
